A perspective built in the courtroom

Prepared for the insurance company’s next move.

Katelyn previously represented insurance companies and their insureds in civil litigation. That experience provides practical knowledge of claim evaluation, discovery, depositions, motion practice, negotiation, and trial preparation.

Today, she uses that perspective exclusively to help individuals understand the process, make informed decisions, and present well-supported claims.

01

Listen first

Your story, concerns, and goals shape the direction of the case. The work begins by understanding what happened and how the injury has affected your life.

02

Preserve the evidence

Photos, video, records, witness information, electronic data, and physical evidence can disappear. Early action helps protect what may be needed later.

03

Build the case

Medical care, lost income, future needs, insurance coverage, and the full personal impact of the injury are documented and organized for negotiation or trial.

Texas injury claims

What happens after someone else causes an injury?

A personal injury claim is a civil claim seeking compensation from a person or business legally responsible for harm. Liability, insurance coverage, medical evidence, damages, and filing deadlines can all affect the claim.

01

Medical care and documentation

Your health comes first. Prompt evaluation also creates a record of symptoms, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and how the injury progresses. Gaps in care and incomplete records can become disputed issues.

02

Evidence and investigation

Photos, video, witness statements, reports, electronic data, safety records, and physical evidence may help show what happened. Some evidence can disappear quickly, so early preservation matters.

03

Insurance and responsibility

More than one policy or responsible party may apply. The investigation may include drivers, employers, property owners, contractors, product manufacturers, and other businesses.

04

The full measure of harm

An injury can affect medical needs, income, mobility, family responsibilities, and daily life. A careful claim considers supported past and future losses, not only the first set of bills.

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers after a Texas injury.

These general answers are a starting point. The facts, deadlines, available insurance, and law must be evaluated for each individual matter.

What should I do after an accident in Texas?

Get medical help, report the incident, preserve photographs and contact information, and avoid giving a recorded statement before you understand your rights. Keep copies of medical bills, work notes, receipts, and communications relating to the incident.

How long do I have to file a Texas personal injury claim?

Many Texas personal injury claims are subject to a two-year limitations period, but important exceptions and shorter notice requirements may apply. The deadline depends on the facts, the parties involved, and the type of claim. A lawyer should review the situation promptly.

What compensation may be available?

Depending on the evidence and applicable law, recoverable damages may include medical expenses, lost income, reduced earning capacity, physical pain, mental anguish, impairment, disfigurement, property damage, and certain future losses.

Will my injury case go to trial?

Many claims resolve through negotiation or mediation, but no lawyer can predict the path of a specific case at the beginning. Preparing the evidence as though the case may be tried can improve the quality of the decisions made throughout the process.

What does a free consultation include?

The initial injury consultation gives you an opportunity to explain what happened, ask questions, and learn whether the firm may be able to help. The consultation is free and does not obligate you to hire the firm.
